Loafers, yes please!

Loafers, yes please!

If we had to pick one shoe to wear on repeat this season, it's the loafer. Not the stiff, boardroom kind you wore once and shelved — the soft, worn-in, wear-with-everything kind.

Why we keep coming back to them

A good loafer does something not many shoes manage — it looks pulled together and completely effortless at the same time. Slide them on with jeans and you're done. Pair them with a dress and they read as a choice, not an afterthought. There's no lacing, no fuss, and somehow they still look like you tried.

How to wear them

Treat loafers the way you'd treat a good pair of jeans — as a base, not a statement. They work under wide-leg trousers, cropped just above the shoe. They work with a midi skirt and a chunky sock underneath when it's cooler. They even work barefoot with a slip dress on the first warm day.

If you want them to feel a little more done, add a contrast sock — a stripe, a pop of colour, something unexpected peeking out. If you want them to feel quieter, keep everything else simple and let the shoe be the only detail doing the talking.

Leather that gets better with time

Our favourite loafers are the handcrafted leather kind — the ones that soften and mould to your foot the more you wear them, rather than the stiff synthetic versions that never quite relax. It's the difference between a shoe you tolerate and one you actually reach for every day.

Not sure which pair is you?

Come in for a styling session and we'll help you find the loafer that actually earns its place in your everyday rotation — not just another pair sitting at the back of the wardrobe.
